S64E Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
Complete all required, scheduled, unscheduled, heavy maintenance/repairs on aircraft, parts, components, and systems in compliance with all applicable Federal regulations, manufacturer’s instructions and approved maintenance repair programs to ensure airworthiness and quality control; Perform maintenance and/or repairs on aircraft, engines and components in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration approved repair station manual using approved methods, techniques and practices; Consult manufacturer’s manuals for specifications to determine feasibility of repair or replacement according to aircraft defects and be able to interpret and understand the technical material. Then ultimately carry out corrective actions; Visually inspect, assesses, and assist in repairs to aircraft structures, systems, and equipment; Repair or replace damaged or worn components. Assemble parts on multiengine aircraft engines and airframes on rotary wing aircraft; Use standard tools and manufacturer specific, special tools to rebuild or replace airframe or components; Inspect engines, power train components, and airframes for damage and nonconformance; Perform run-up and leak checks on aircraft as required; Test engine operation, using test equipment, to determine serviceability, and performance. Inspects turbine engines and components for damage; Examine, service, and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems; Inspect and diagnostically troubleshoot electrical systems, aircraft accessories, and instrumentation, with the ability to logically think through problems; Perform miscellaneous duties involved with servicing aircraft including lubrication, fueling, and de-fueling, and maintain tools and other equipment; Repair and fabricate sheet metal parts for airframe repairs as required; Deal with multiple concurrent requirements, ambiguities, and demanding situations under time constraints; and Sustain an accurate record system of maintenance performed in the aircraft’s technical, engine, and airframe logbooks. Maintain an accurate parts inventory.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering plus 4 years experience or, in the alternative, 6 years experience.
Special Requirements: Must have at least 4 years of experience working with the Sikorsky S64E Skycrane Helicopter.
